Love camping and cooking outdoors? Want to learn some new techniques and organization hints? You’ll want to pick up The Family Camp Cookbook: Easy, Fun, and Delicious Meals to Enjoy Outdoors . This excellent cookbook has sections on organizing, planning a good camp kitchen, helpful equipment, and making the most of your camping experience. Of course, the recipes are what stand out, but the information in the early sections will make it easier to prepare these recipes successfully.

The recipes are written in the traditional form and are easy to follow. Most of the recipes call for ingredients that are readily available in mainstream grocery stores.

The thing that stands out is that the recipes are for dishes that almost everyone will actually want to eat. That includes both adults and children. Vikre has done an excellent job of choosing a wide array of recipes that will appeal to almost everyone.

There are also beautiful photographs – unfortunately, not of every dish, but at least some. It would be better if there were more, but that won’t make this a no-go. It is still an excellent cookbook, and campers as well as those who like to cook outdoors will benefit from having this on their bookshelf.

All told, this is a cookbook that will be enjoyed and will be used often by everyone who enjoys cooking while camping.
